  1. ….”in response to conservative grievances over government-ordered virus precautions.”

Sure seem to be a lot of ‘conservative grievances’ these days. Logical public safety precautions? Grievance. Books that don’t support strictly White, Religious principles? Grievance. Locally-elected non-partisan School Boards? GRIEVANCE!!!

    1. Yes, those “civil” school board meetings where people threaten the members (“We know where you live!”) and become unruly when asked to wear a mask.

Glad the Legislature wants to make those more political, because apparently actually being forced to do research on the candidates and their beliefs is just too hard. Much better to enable straight ticket voting and introducing more politics into education. Can’t wait for the primary season in May to include school boards… 🙄

Here’s a thought – if you don’t like what goes on in your public schools, take your kids and go elsewhere. School choice advocate screamed for that for years, they got what they wanted, and now when presented with the opportunity to take their tax dollars and go elsewhere, their response is to introduce more layers of bureaucracy into the public school system. Genius.

  2. What is so very encouraging is the form of the “grievances” … which are “civil” … unlike the unchecked violent protests and riots in many urban areas in 2020 and 2021 where portions of public spaces were taken over and occupied by protestors, for months in some cases, property damage reached record levels, people were killed, public health mandates to mask and not gather were ignored, a new form of organized “smash and grab” crime was instituted …, and public officials from these locales ignored the law-breaking as they demoralized and tied the hands of law enforcement by siding with the law-breakers. All eagerly supported by nearly all mainstream media organizations. It is also noteworthy that the fires that burned, the massive increase in first responders responding, and the reconstruction and replacement of infrastructure and goods required due to the riots and looting, all contribute unnecessarily to greenhouse gas emissions.

    1. I am an independent and do not support either the Republicans or Democrats because parties are looking out for their own and for the duopoly. Having stated that, Mark, what do you call January 6, 2021’s violence at the US Capitol?
