  1. Again why are we, as citizens, using public dollars to fund private schools? Big L for the Chamber to push for more funding to private institutions. I agree with reviewing the real need for the amount of money but wanting more cost share to private groups is insane to me.

    1. The private schools being discussed are part of the IPS Innovation network. They are independently run but they share services and facilities with IPS. In turn IPS gets credit for enrollment and academic performance at those schools. It’s a way for IPS to offer more academic offerings and improve student performance in districts. Some of the schools are chartered by IPS and other entities some are not. It is a bit confusing.

  2. I find it incredible that IPS did not solicit help from and involve the Chamber in negotiations earlier due to what the Chamber was able to do the last time. Maybe they did not like the suggestions (which sounded great to me).

    I am still firmly in the camp that thinks IPS does not have either the children’s or the taxpayer’s best interests at heart. They change programs at a whim, do not properly support and involve teachers and other employees, and appear to be a very top heavy organization.
