  1. On what “reputation” is Lululemon trading? This is a company that proved itself to be pro-theft, as it literally discouraged repeat thieves from getting prosecuted and then fired one of its managers for actually tracking down habitual thieves when she followed them as they ran, capturing video footage of their car license plate. Lululemon is so pro-crime that it’s hard to wonder what the wholesale value of its expensive merchandise really is. The company can tolerate daily theft of $2,000 worth of yoga pants, because the wholesale value is about $45.

What this REALLY means: Costco obtains its sporty merchandise from a Vietnamese sweatshop just fives down the road from Lululemon’s preferred sweatshop. And Costco’s markup is only 150%–rendering Lululemon’s markup of 700% non-competitive.

If people really think that clothes with that stupid omega logo are worth 5 times that of the competition, why not just go to a Lululemon and steal what they want?
