As a LONGTIME Pacers fan (back to the days of the ABA), I think Bjorkgren deserves at least another season. Otherwise, it invalidates the decision to fire Nate McMillan. Second, Pritchard is right to stick with Myles Turner. How else can you genuinely evaluate his long-term value (he’s still young…). You have to go into next season with all of the guys who missed significant time to injuries and REALLY assess their potential as a team – led by a coach, who – at least publicly owned the fact he needs to get better. They owe to Brogdon as someone they value in stealing him away from the Bucks. Warren who, in my opinion, just went all in and I think his comments are indictive of a locker room that’s more together than apart. I mean, think about it, who LIKES losing? If anything, the Pacers had a chance to really evaluate some of their bench players who only got significant playing time because of all of the injuries. Oh yeah, Turner is one of the best defenders in the league. Pritchard has to adjust his expectations given the fact it was him who decided to hire a first-time head coach. He could’ve hired a guy who’s been around, but I’d venture to say that “experience” would not have produced significantly better results given all of the injuries. This team never played at full strength. And, if Pritchard did fire the coach, then he might as well step down because, ultimately, he failed just as much as the guy he entrusted to run the show on the floor. GO Pacers!
