TechPoint to make awards to IT

The state’s technology initiative, TechPoint, is adding two categories to its annual Mira awards: health care IT and corporate
IT.

The latter may be
particularly notable because past MIRA awards often have focused on upstart companies created by young buckaroos
rather than on IT innovators at establishment companies whose employees actually wear suits and ties.

The health care award recognizes the growing
subspecialty of information technology in the sector.

"What is noteworthy is that many companies that are now heralded as ‘marquee’ technology
leaders in the state of Indiana were TechPoint Mira Award winners or finalists when they were fledgling
startups," said Jim Jay, TechPoint president and CEO. "If a company wins a TechPoint Mira
award, you can expect to see them grow and prosper in the years to come."

Nominations for the 2009 Mira awards are due March 6, with winners in the 11 categories announced
in May.

Interactions Corp. names CEO

Interactions Corp., a Carmel company that makes automated voice systems for customer contact centers,
has named Mike Iacobucci as CEO.

He succeeds company founder Michael Cloran, who remains chairman.

Iacobucci spent four years at Boston-based Idiom Technologies, where he was president and CEO.

Before that, he was an executive-in-residence
at Sigma Partners, a Silicon Valley company that has invested in several technology companies, including
Interactions.

Iacobucci
also founded Books24x7.com.

Cloran said he will remain "product visionary" at Interactions, whose systems are used at the customer call centers
of a number of Fortune 100 companies.
