Central Indiana counties are burning through salt supplies and budgets due to frequent snow and ice storms. The Indiana Department of Transportation says it has enough to get through the rest of winter. Same thing for Marion County, which says it is restocking supplies as needed. Hendricks County started the season with 1,500 tons of salt and has used 85 percent. Madison County has used 85 percent, as well. In Hamilton County, officials say 60 percent of its supply has been used. Hancock County has used up 75 percent.
