Carmel-based N/Frame, an Internet and hosting provider, said today that it has been acquired by Continental Broadband of Norfolk, Va., for undisclosed terms.

N/Frame Chief Operating Officer Bob Alcorn said its owners, the Dunigan family of Evansville, felt it was better to find a buyer than undertake an expansion that would have required extensive investment.

N/Frame, which has 35 employees, operates mainly in Marion County and nearby towns. In addition to Internet services, it is the state’s largest data center and disaster and recovery network provider.

N/Frame ranked 23rd on IBJ’s 2005 list of largest Indianapolis-area computer consulting firms.

Continental is a similar company operating in 11 locations in the Northeast and South. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of Landmark Communications Inc. of Atlanta. Among Landmark’s other holdings are the Weather Channel.

The deal closed Feb. 1.
