Marion newspaper changes hands

The Chronicle-Tribune in Marion has been sold to Paducah, Ky.-based Paxton Media Group LLC. Financial terms were not disclosed. The paper’s previous owner, McLean, Va.-based Gannett Co. Inc., in May donated the newspaper to the Gannett Foundation, which completed the sale. The new owner plans to revive the paper’s business office and printing presses within about 45 days. Until then, the paper will continue to be printed at Gannett’s Indianapolis press. No other changes were announced. Among its 30 newspapers in nine states, Paxton also owns Wabash Plain Dealer, the Huntington Herald Press and the Peru Tribune.
