Chambers is the only one with responses that aren’t total BS. Everyone else just gives the same generic “slash and burn” response. Crouch is an idiot. There is absolutely no way to simply “trim” $8 billion from a budget through vague references to “efficiency.” Braun brings absolutely nothing to the table.
Like, these people are not serious and it’s pathetic.
As a Democrat, Chambers actually makes some sense. Braun is going the Holcomb/Pence route of saying nothing and hoping he can win. And he probably will.
Everyone else is completely unacceptable. And I had higher hopes for Crouch. Everything I’ve heard is that she’s a reasonable and good person, but she’s clearly going to the far right in an attempt to make her stick out. And its failing.
The one question that all the candidates failed to answer because it wasn’t asked: “Would you support changing the way the state gas tax is distributed, replacing the “center line miles” formula to one based on “total lane miles”? If not, why not?
Im not that thrilled about any of the candidates we have to pick from. The phrase choose your poision is appropriate here. Whoever wins must keep Indiana competitive or the state will surly fall behind in the region. Another topic that’s going to keep popping up besides taxes is, will Indiana finally legalize marijuana?
I’ve read these answers twice carefully, and I find them generic, vague and lacking credibility. If you want to be governor, you should have more thoughtful and specific answers. While I find fault with all of them, Braun’s non-answers are the most troubling. As the frontrunner, he provides the most generic non-answers of all. We deserve better. If Crouch is going to say get rid of state taxes, she should have some bold and specific ideas for doing so. As a state auditor and Lt. Gov., I would expect her to have tangible insights and specific ideas for reducing spending. She does not. Doden never seems to answer a question and merely redirects his answer to hitting his talking points. Chambers answer to everything is growth. What about costs? And if growth is the key, what specific actions will drive that growth? It’s going to be really hard to select a candidate if they don’t provide specific plans and build credibility so we actually believe they can do the job.
