It would make sense and be a good selling point to note how many hospitalizations and deaths were un-vaccinated Vs. those that were vaccinated.
Takes 30 seconds to find if you know what real news sources to follow …
Week ending Nov 25: 6,657 fully vaccinated Hoosiers tested positive for #COVID19, with 118 hospitalizations and 39 newly reported deaths.
Since Jul 1:
78% of cases have been #unvaccinated
93% of hospitalizations
77% of deaths
Since Jan 18 (1st full vaccinations):
84% of cases have been unvaccinated
95% of hospitalizations
89% of deaths
2.26% of fully vaccinated Hoosiers have gotten sick
.05% have been hospitalized
.02% have died

Agree on all the above. Amazed that data is somehow eluding IBJ. If the data in Joe’s link is correct, the only narrative show be something along the lines of “9 out of 10 deaths and hospitalizations are unvaccinated. Stop being stupid”. I guess endless stories and vax rates, and masks sell more advertising.
That data hasn’t eluded IBJ. We’ve included breakthrough information in our updates on a frequent basis. The state only updates breakthrough information once a week, and when it does, it is already a week old. Here’s a story we did recently: https://www.ibj.com/articles/covid-19-breakthrough-cases-accounting-for-small-percentage-of-hoosier-cases
I don’t believe the unvaccinated/vaccinated data is updated more than once a week by the state of Indiana. And even if it was updated daily, it wouldn’t change any minds. The trend is pretty clear – this is now a pandemic of vaccine refusers, who are requiring the hospitalization/ICU care that has choked off our hospitals. The vaccinated simply aren’t having bad cases to the level of the unvaccinated.
When the virus runs out of those folks to burn through, we will see our numbers drop. But it’s going to be a rough stretch until we get there.
