Chuck…..you realize, right, that those kinds of public comments from a man actually prove the point Joe made.
It’s all fun and games to defund Planned Parenthood because they don’t do this abortion thing you don’t like, but they haven’t been using federal funds to do any of that.
It’s the lack of replacement for all the other things that PP does … that’s so damning for Republicans. Like, where do poor women get REAL prenatal care, or health care, or even contraception? What is the Republican alternative, a comprehensive place for women to get care that offers everything but abortion?
Because the answer right now would appear to be, there will never be one. Because Republican interest in being pro-life significantly wanes the moment it takes the spending of one red cent, and because they don’t see their own mothers, wives, and daughters as equals worth the investment. The only “real alternatives” that Republicans offer appear to be to throw a pack of diapers at them, because whatever happens is “God’s will”.
