  1. USPS could stop Saturday mail delivery, along with all the fuel and labor costs and be profitable. For those who “need” Saturday service, get a PO Box.

    1. Amazon hardly uses the post office anymore. They have essentially have their own shipping company now, and they even open it up to other businesses.

    1. Amazon handles the vast majority of their shipping service in-house now. They essentially have their own drivers, shipping containers, and planes. The amount of business Amazon does with USPS in 2023 is likely insignificant.

      Either way, back before Amazon built out their own shipping network, USPS was making a profit on Amazon. The logistics part of USPS has been largely profitable for a while, but they have pension liabilities (because of US law) that make their balance sheet red.
