One more example of the charter system’s lack of deep-rooted financial review. This was all about money. They couldn’t expand enrollment sufficiently to sustain their budget. That should’ve been evident to the charter school board—IF a solid fiscal review was conducted.
When will we see an solid oversight of these charters. There are so many, and they drain resources from the public school system. They get the money, then fail. Of course, IPS does not get the money back, but we expect them to offer quality education. Lets fully support IPS and start strictly regulating and monitoring these charters. Is there no oversight???
I city is only as strong as its public education programs.
