On a seasonally adjusted basis, the pace of mortgage loan activity decreased 5.5 percent for the week ended Feb. 4, according to the Mortgage Bankers Association. The rate for 30-year mortgages increased to 5.13 percent from 4.81 percent the previous week. The rate for 15-year mortgages increased to 4.29 percent from 4.13 percent.

-Broyles Kight Ricafor leased 6,322 square feet at 8250 Haverstick Road. The tenant was represented by Ralph Balber of Newmark Knight Frank Halakar. The landlord, Shepard & Poorman Investments, was represented by Gus Sevastianos and Brian Fitzgerald of Citimark Management Co. Inc.

-Markey’s Audio Visual leased 5,850 square feet of industrial space at 8434 E. 33rd St. The tenant was represented by Herb Feldmann and Cindy Hoskinson of Lee & Associates. The landlord, First Industrial, was represented by Brian Seitz and Steve Schwegman of Jones Lang LaSalle.

-Sylvester Service Experts leased 5,275 square feet at Madison Trace Business Center, Exit 19 and I-69, Pendleton. The landlord, Tower Pendleton LLC, was represented by Kurt Mathewson of Mathewson Willey Realty Advisors.  The tenant represented self.

-Horizon CPA expanded and renewed its lease for 3,576 square feet at 8604 Allisonville Road. The landlord, Castle Creek Office LLC., was represented by Gus Sevastianos and Brian Fitzgerald of Citimark Management Co. Inc. The tenant represented itself.

-Indiana Retired Teachers Association leased 3,261 square feet at 2629 Waterfront Parkway, East Drive.  The tenant was represented by Jim Mount of Hokanson Cos. The landlord, New Boston Jacaranda LP, was represented by Gus Sevastianos and Brian Fitzgerald of Citimark Management Co. Inc.

-Dr. Ronald L. Banta leased 2,798 square feet at 3077 E. 98th St. The tenant was represented by Matt Kiger of Newmark Knight Frank Halakar. The landlord, BREOF Keystone REO LLC, was represented by Dave Moore and Darrin Boyd of Cassidy Turley.

-Appia Communications leased 2,097 square feet at 8604 Allisonville Road. The landlord, Castle Creek Office LLC., was represented by Gus Sevastianos and Brian Fitzgerald of Citimark Management Co. Inc. The tenant represented itself.

-Intrepid Financial Planning Group LLC leased 1,689 square feet at 3021 E. 98th St. The landlord, BREOF Keystone REO LLC, was represented by Dave Moore and Darrin Boyd of Cassidy Turley. The tenant represented itself.

-IT Business Solutions leased 1,100 square feet at 2611 Waterfront Parkway, East Drive. The landlord, New Boston Jacaranda LP, was represented by Gus Sevastianos and Brian Fitzgerald of Citimark Management Co. Inc. The tenant represented itself.  

-Gradex Inc. leased 590 square feet of office space in Fall Creek Harbour Shoppes, 10142 Brooks School Road, Fishers. The tenant and landlord, FCH Associates LLC, were represented by Cindy Hoskinson and Herb Feldmann of Lee & Associates.

Sales/acquisitions

Park Madison Investors LLC bought the 56-unit Park Madison Apartments at 614 Park Madison Drive, Greenwood. The price wasn’t disclosed. The seller, Regal Development LLC, was represented by Joe Esselman and Catherine Esselman of Penn Real Estate Inc. The buyer represented itself.

Whitsett proposes 86-unit downtown apartment project

WXIN-TV general manager leaving for Houston station

Jerry Martin notified staff on Monday that he has accepted a position as general manager of NBC affiliate KPRC-TV. Martin joined Fox59 six years ago and helped the station increase its news coverage.

Police beef up downtown presence

February 14, 2011

Indianapolis police have added more officers downtown and placed patrolmen on city buses running from the east and west sides to downtown in the wake of a Saturday morning killing. Christopher Lindsey, 19, was killed and Prince Bibbs, 22, was wounded after shots were fired at a bar in the 200 block of South Meridian Street. This weekend’s killing marked at least the fourth time since last summer that gunfire has erupted downtown.
 

City launches pothole blitz

February 14, 2011

The Department of Public Works spent the weekend on a “pothole blitz,” but expects to keep busy attacking problem areas on city streets caused by thawing after the winter storms. From Monday through Friday, 25 crews will travel Indianapolis looking for potholes. Residents can report potholes by calling the Mayor’s Action Center at 327-4MAC or at www.indy.gov/pothole.
 

Body found on north side

February 14, 2011

Indianapolis homicide detectives and crime lab technicians were called into duty this morning when a body was discovered wrapped in a carpet in the 3700 block of North Meridian Street. Police have released few details about the investigation, including the gender of the body or the cause of death.
 

CIB set to approve parking lot paving bid
