Today, Jack Laurie Group has about 800 full-time equivalents, with offices in Fort Wayne and Indianapolis and satellite locations in Bloomington/Columbus, Lafayette, Merrillville, South Bend and Van Wert, Ohio.

He was 45, new to the industry—which provides building products such as doors, frames, access-control systems and fireplaces for construction—and a first-time CEO for a company that was profitable but no longer growing.
