State regulators have issued a $17,000 fine against Kroger Co. over a warehouse accident that led to a worker's death
at a central Indiana store.
The state Department of Labor says it found three violations related to the stacking, arrangement and movement of materials
on pallets at a store in Franklin.
The store was inspected last month after 32-year-old Lori Keen of Franklin was fatally injured March 15 when a pallet of
bottled water fell on her.
Kroger spokesman John Elliott told the Daily Journal of Franklin that the company disagrees with some of the state's
findings. He said the company extensively trains workers on how to handle warehouse storage and that its review found that
training was followed at the Franklin store.
