Indiana reports 755 new COVID-19 cases, two more deaths

The Indiana State Department of Health on Monday reported 755 new COVID-19 cases, marking the 19th time in the past 21 days that new cases have exceeded 700 in the department’s daily report.

For the fourth day in a row, the department added historic data from newly onboarded testing facilities. Monday’s numbers include the addition of 818 tested individuals and 1,770 tests dating back to July 14 from an additional testing facility.

The state reported two deaths on Monday, bringing the cumulative total to 3,215. The state has reported 74 deaths over the past week, up from 68 the previous week.

Following are the latest COVID-19 numbers from the Indiana State Department of Health. The department updates its data daily based on information received through 11:59 p.m. the previous day.

*New cases, deaths and tests are previously unreported cases, deaths and tests submitted to the Indiana State Health Department in the 24 hours through 11:59 p.m. the previous day. The cases and testing categories typically contain numerous duplicates—as many as 20% or more—that are later eliminated from the cumulative totals.

  1. Thanks for collecting the data. With the State continually adding new data, it makes comparisons difficult (for example, the influx of new tests on 9/12 and 9/13 from onboarding facilities skewed the positive rate low, but that’s likely because many of the tests came from June–when our positivity rates were really low). But, patterns are emerging. And, today’s positivity rate was 8.86%, which is lower than what it has been since the last week of August – which may be a good sign overall, especially after Labor Day.
