Indiana reports 652 more COVID-19 cases; U.S. death toll passes 200,000

The Indiana State Department of Health on Tuesday reported 652 new COVID-19 cases and nine additional deaths.

The department reported the testing of 6,977 more unique individuals. The cumulative positivity rate for unique individuals remained at 8.6%.

The death toll in the United States from COVID-19 now tops 200,000, according to the latest numbers from Johns Hopkins University.

Following are the latest COVID-19 numbers from the Indiana State Department of Health. The department updates its data daily based on information received through 11:59 p.m. the previous day.

*New cases: 652

Total cumulative cases reported Tuesday: 112,626

Total cumulative cases reported Monday: 112,027

Increase in cumulative cases: 599

U.S. deaths: 200,005

Global cases: 31,374,796

Global deaths: 965,893

*New cases, deaths and tests are previously unreported cases, deaths and tests submitted to the Indiana State Health Department in the 24 hours through 11:59 p.m. the previous day. The cases and testing categories typically contain numerous duplicates—as many as 20% or more—that are later eliminated from the cumulative totals.
