The total number of deaths climbed to 7,244.
Statewide hospitalizations due to COVID-19 inched up to 3,064 on Monday from 2,967 on Sunday. The high mark was 3,460 set on Nov. 30.
COVID-19 patients occupy 30.3% of the state’s intensive care beds and non-COVID patients are taking up 46.7%, leaving 23.1% available.
The department said 12,039 new individuals had been tested. Testing in that category has exceeded 10,000 for 57 straight days.
The 7-day positivity rate for unique individuals held steady at 24.2%.

*New cases, deaths and tests are previously unreported cases, deaths and tests submitted to the Indiana State Health Department in the 24 hours through 11:59 p.m. the previous day. The cases and testing categories typically contain numerous duplicates—as many as 20% or more—that are later eliminated from the cumulative totals.

IBJ- nice job on the new format
Agree with Chuck W. I like the new format, too. FYI – I think the number of US cases has passed the 18,000,000 threshold – so I think that number might be 18,057,172. FWIW, today’s numbers show that 32% of the newly tested individuals were positive. This is a noteworthy change. 32% positivity is the lowest number by far since Nov. 29. (Of course, it could be a reporting aberration. We’ll have to see how the future numbers shake out.) This is a link to the IBJ numbers collected over time:
