The state also reported 36 new deaths due to the coronavirus. Reported deaths due to COVID-19 have exceeded single digits in 115 of the past 116 days.
The health department also added 1,507 historical deaths to the cumulative death total, raising it to 11,231. The department said those deaths were identified through an audit of 2020 and 2021 death records and test results.
The department said 9,817 new individuals were tested Wednesday, the largest number since Jan. 29
Statewide hospitalizations due to COVID-19 fell from 1,582 on Tuesday to 1,541 on Wednesday, the lowest number since Oct. 21. The high mark was 3,460, set on Nov. 30.
The state said more than 178,000 Hoosiers had been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as Thursday at 5 a.m. More than 637,000 had received the first dose of a vaccination.

How is it possible almost 1 year into this, that an “audit” “found” 1500 new Covid deaths, which was over 15% of the cumulative total? Another case of Craine’s Clowns making it up as they go.
Completely agree. And of course that’s the headline. Not that nearly every Covid metric is moving in a positive direction.

Trends are good. Just have to get more vaccine and keep distributing it as fast as we can… Independence Day could mean a lot more this year if we stay diligent and listen to the science…
