Star wars? That phrase had a different meaning back in the golden age of Hollywood when the rivalry between screen divas Bette Davis and Joan Crawford was no secret. Both were given a rare (and grotesque) opportunity to play out that rivalry in this 1962 film. Critics sometimes talk about “brave” performances in movies.
