  1. All the “anti-sports” types are giving each other high fives but I don’t think the athletes that wanted this have really thought it through. I don’t agree with a lot the NCAA has done. They have acted like some sort of out of control police state sometimes and have very definite biases but if the foundation of college sports in this country goes under, so will college sports as we know it and all that it entails. The reigns of suppression when it came to better payments to athletes, never made sense. I was a student worker both as an undergrad and a grad student and it helped. I got free tuition in some years as well as a stipend.
    If we damage the foundation too severely we will come to regret it though.

  2. There shouldn’t be any association of paid sports and universities. The only sports that should be associated are intramural. Spin these sports off into the second tier professional leagues that they are.
