This is the way: “A school district in California’s West Contra Costa County is considering hiring out-of-state math educators to teach online while a substitute monitors students in person.” Perhaps it’s time to re-think (revolutionize) our educational system developed during the agrarian age. Utilize technology the way it should be used. Create industry standard modules that allow students to learn at their own pace, at their own preferred time. Online tests can confirm that the student has learned the lessons before moving forward. If the Junior in high school wants to do school lessons between 9 pm and 3 am, I do not care – the student learning should be the focus. We do not need a failing nationwide replication of a teacher trying to force 32 disparate students to learn the same things in the same room at the same pace – that system artificially holds some students back and causes some students to fall behind. Instead, we need teachers to help guide the students to learn and identify those students who need help.
