Buchanan‘s bill threatens to put Indiana at a competitive disadvantage to other states that don’t slow down the land acquisition process.
Greene’s bill is the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard in my life. It may as well be titled the “We don’t ever want a major employer ever again” bill.
It mystifies me that Republicans look at the concept of landing jobs and employers and are terrified of it.
Look at Boone County and this is what bringing manufacturing back to Indiana looks like. Companies want brand new and will run over whoever to get it, Be careful what you wish for.
Letting entities run over our State is no way to negotiate.
And allowing entities to use all our natural resources without compensation is a no go.
The IEDC knew the water pipeline was a non starter.
Our State has a lot to offer and we need to skill up our negotiators at the IEDC.
Yes, let’s play tough with people who have other options. That’s a great way to lose big. “Skill up negotiatiors”. Yeah, teach them to win at the gun fight and make sure they only have a banana.
Another idea would be to stop cutting education spending so we have the workforce that employers crave instead of having to pay companies six figures per job in tax incentives because it will be so hard for them to find folks in Indiana with the skills we need.
The water pipeline is a symptom of how hard it is for Indiana to land the jobs of the next few decades in Indiana and a lot of you seem to take the approach of “naw, we don’t need them. We are perfectly fine being left behind.”
