The American Pianists Association’s Jazz Fellowship Awards competition is stretching over seven months, with competitors each given a gig to show his or her stuff. This time, it’s Ohio-native, Julliard grad Aaron Diehl, a Wynton Marsalis discovery named outstanding soloist at Lincoln Center’s Essential Ellington competition.
