A manager who killed a robbery suspect at a Kroger store in Indianapolis on Dec. 26 has resigned. Elijah Elliott, 24, shot Jeremy Atkinson at the Kroger store at West 71st Street and Georgetown Road during the robbery attempt. Authorities said Elliott acted in self-defense and protected fellow employees. Elliott said Kroger, where he worked for six years, stood by him after the incident, granting him paid leave after the shooting and offering counseling. He said he wasn’t fired even though Kroger has a no-firearm policy.
