Subscribe NowExcise police announced Monday that they issued 218 citations in downtown Indianapolis during Super Bowl week. Police said they had relatively few problems with those attending events at the Super Bowl Village, Lucas Oil Stadium and the Indiana Convention Center, considering an estimated 1.1 million people visited the area during the week. Plainclothes officers focused their attention on underage drinking. More than half of the citations, 135, involved illegal possession or consumption of alcohol.
