Plans for the addition call for a new banquet hall, kitchen, dining room, rehabilitation space, locker rooms, strength and conditioning facilities, and more.
One of the practice fields will be a full-size synthetic turf field and the second a partial, natural turf field.
A price tag was not disclosed by the Colts. Construction wouldn’t start until after the season and be completed next year.
The 30-year-old facility, known as Indiana Farm Bureau Football Center, is located on 31 acres at 7001 W. 56th St., on the city’s northwest side.
The Colts recently completed a $3.2 million expansion to the facility, which added 7,500 square feet. The addition included an indoor swimming pool and administrative space.
The Department of Metropolitan Development is recommending approval of the latest expansion plans. The plan is scheduled to be heard by the Metropolitan Development Commission Hearing Examiner on Oct. 26.
