Revenue growth FY 2015 to 2017: 60%

Repeat customers: TMG—Tammy and Mike Goins’ company—returns to Fast 25 for the third time, thanks to both construction projects and requests from clients to manage property development. Among the biggest projects: TMG built 12 Taco Bells within four months last year. “This allowed our client to surpass their corporate obligations and to exceed the projections made by their peers,” Mike Goins said.

Accelerated expansions: Tammy Goins said TMG’s clients are now relying on the company more frequently to manage property development. TMG used to just review sites and give advice about construction feasibility and budgeting. Now, the company also handles the due diligence necessary to get to the actual acquisition of the property.

As a result: TMG, which used to spend two or three months working on a project, now gets involved about three months before the project gets to the construction phase. “The fact that we can manage this piece of the process has allowed our clients to accelerate their expansion plans, which is obviously a win for us as well,” she said.

Help needed: The biggest challenge, she said, for TMG and practically everyone in the construction industry is the shortage of skilled labor. To deal with that, the company has hired interns, is attending college career fairs to connect with future construction graduates, and has been involved with Associated Builders and Contractors and its Construction Prep Academy, which allows high school juniors and seniors the opportunity to explore a variety of trades and professions in construction.

Next year: “You will likely see us on this list again next year,” Tammy Goins said. “We are excited to currently be building our new headquarters office in our hometown of Noblesville. We have also been released to start pre-construction on our largest project to date, which we will be announcing soon.”•
