I would have to see a topological map of the finished park to see how this is going to work, but it seems a little crazy to have a beach at the edge of a 80 foot drop off.
The beach itself is planned on a small cove near the east side of the main body of the reservoir. Having been through that area by boat it’s more like 20 feet deep at its deepest point.
I think you might be referring to the actually quarry site on the west side of Olio Road, which is slated to become an additional water storage area for the reservoir, but not be accessible to the public. This is not part of the Geist Waterfront Park project, which is located on the east side of Olio Road, where the topography is much more gentle and conducive for recreational use.
The article mentions that a lot of overburden is being moved into the pit to create a raised shelf for swimmers.
I never take my boat past the Olio bridge due to the shallowness of the water up there.
No mention of any how many pizzerias in the different phases? C’mon Scotty, your strategy has worked perfectly so far for Fishers. You have to KEEP BRINGING THE PIZZA, SCOTTY!!!!!
As a Geist resident (virtual prisoner to Marion county boundaries), I feel like I am a virtual Fishers resident. Would be great to have annual passes or something since I live closer to many Fishers residents.
