  1. Can’t be renting houses in Carmel of all places. The Carmel City Council has to protect their benefactors; the real estate developers who are building multi-tenant rental units on every open plot of land. They can’t have competition from people trying to rent their homes. Worse, we now have “HOA by council fiat.”

    1. Kudos to Carmel for getting this done! They are trying to keep Carmel nice. Where I live in Hancock County, there are a few rentals in our subdivision and it’s an ongoing battle to keep these renters from destroying the property, for instance, not mowing the grass regularly, parking in the grass. We had one family who built race cars in the garage, spray painted parts on the driveway, and tested their cars out in the neighborhood! Thank goodness those people moved away, but you can’t be sure if the renters who move in will be respectful of the property and surroundings.
