The department reported 5,037 new cases of COVID-19, the highest daily number since Jan. 10, when 5,127 new cases were reported.
Statewide hospitalizations due to COVID-19 rose from 1,956 on Monday to 2,048 on Tuesday, the largest number since Jan. 23, when 2,188 people were hospitalized with the virus. Almost a quarter (24.2%) of Indiana’s intensive care unit beds are occupied by COVID patients.
The state reported another 19 deaths from COVID-19, raising the cumulative death toll to 13,903. The seven-day moving average of new deaths remained at 14 per day, the health department said.
More than 3 million Hoosiers had been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as of Wednesday at 5 a.m. About 20,000 other Hoosiers had received the first dose of a two-dose vaccine but not the second dose.

Why isn’t Indiana making the antibody treatment readily available for people in the early stages of Covid to decrease hospitalizations? Florida has them everywhere? My mother had this treatment in 2020 and she felt better quickly.
Because in Indiana the VACCINE is readily available.
Get with the program? Why don’t you get educated. People are getting COVID with and without the vaccine. No one knows at what rates – because the scientists either don’t know or won’t tell us if the vaccine is not working.
The vaccine is not a golden bullet that promises you will never get COVID… and it never has been.
What it does is promise a much reduced risk of infection, hospitalization, admission to the ICU, intubation, and death. There are copious examples of this data unless you choose to ignore it.
Florida is a mess, and not a model for anything. Look at the data.

Playing around with numbers to spread fear. So a hospital sets aside say 15% of its beds in ICU for Covid (to keep it simple lets say 15 out of 100 total ICU beds). Covid is now taking 25% of those beds set aside or 4 beds (rounding up). So the media can now print 1 Quarter of ICU beds taken up by Covid. When in reality….in this example, it would be only 4%.
And did you read the fine print on the stats….”The cases and testing categories typically contain numerous duplicates”… that’s because they test and test once you have Covid, if the same person test positive multiple times, they count that in the overall total.

R.R., that’s not how the ICU calculation works. There are 2,185 ICU beds in the state, and 529 of them are taken up by COVID-19 patients.
Not true. Every hospital designates ICU beds to Covid-19 patience only. That is how the hospital is segregated for cross contamination. And your numbers came from where??
