The National Storytelling Network will consider Indianapolis, along with eight other cities, as it looks to move its headquarters
from Jonesborough, Tenn.

The network hosts a national conference and other activities for its members. Site committee
Co-chairman Loren Niemi said the network is looking for a new home in part to distinguish its activities from the National
Storytelling Festival, which also takes place in Jonesborough. NSN also wants to be more centrally located and improve its
airport access, he said.

The National Storytelling Network is a small organization with just two full-time and
two part-time staff members. The group will make its decision in about 18 months, Niemi said.

The search committee
is looking at second-tier cities, but Indianapolis might be too small to host two storytelling organizations, Niemi said.
Storytelling Arts suggested Indianapolis, but NSN wants to make sure its presence wouldn’t overshadow the local storytelling
group.
