The Westfield planning commission has asked city employees to further review the project, named Symphony. The commission saw plans for the 1,400-acre project at a public
hearing June 21 and reviewed it again Tuesday.
The Estridge Cos. has proposed thousands of single-family and multifamily homes, shops, a YMCA and a baseball stadium.
Company President Paul Estridge says he plans to ask Westfield to pay up to $70 million for roads, sewers and other parts
of the project.
Estridge Cos.' subcontractors have invested $10 million into the firm—an infusion that paves the way for the company to
proceed with the massive development.
Westfield spokeswoman Carrie Cason says the planning commission could discuss the project again as soon as July 19.
