The Rathskeller opened for lunch Tuesday after workers spent hours cleaning and removing carpet since the crane truck toppled outside the Athenaeum Building on Monday. The YMCA branch in the building planned to reopened on a limited basis Wednesday, with cycling/spinning machines set up in the ArtSpace at the Athenaeum and some fitness classes being held in the building's theater.
Crews removed the fallen crane overnight. Athenaeum Foundation president Cassie Stockamp said the accident will delay renovations that were being done.
Stockamp says the flooding means the building will get new flooring and ceilings in some unexpected areas.
