Subscribe NowA Noblesville mother was arrested Monday afternoon after police say she left her 4-year-old son inside a hot car at a Fishers shopping center. Roni Penn, 34, faces a preliminary charge of neglect of a dependent for leaving the boy in the car outside the SuperTarget near 116th Street and Interstate 69. Penn said she left the boy alone for about 30 minutes because he didn’t want to go inside. Police said the temperature in the car was at least 100 degrees. The child was checked out by paramedics and released to his father.
