Police were already on the scene at That Place Bar near South Emerson Avenue and West County Road around 2 a.m. Friday for reports of a disturbance. In an accident apparently not related to the initial call, a 40-year-old woman allegedly struck her 40-year-old fiancé with her vehicle in the bar’s parking lot. The man suffered a serious head wound and died after being transported to Wishard Hospital. The woman was detained for blood testing because investigators suspected that alcohol was involved.
