A graduate of Notre Dame has given $35 million to the university to endow the head football coaching position and fund building construction.

Richard Corbett gave $25 million toward an anthropology, psychology and digital media building, which is under construction near the football stadium. The 280,000-square-foot building will be named Corbett Family Hall.

The university announced Thursday the remaining $10 million will create an endowment to fund the head football coaching position

The future Corbett Family Hall is part of the $400 million project to add 800,000-square feet of academic and student life buildings on campus. Construction started in November.

Corbett, who is president and CEO of Florida-based Concorde Cos., earned a bachelor's degree in history from Notre Dame in 1960. He later earned a business degree from Harvard.
