Indiana's bicentennial torch got a ride in the back seat of an IndyCar Saturday as it sped toward the final leg of its 3,200-mile journey across the state.

The last day of the five-week torch relay began at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, where IndyCar driver Sarah Fisher took the torch on a two-lap spin. The day ended at the new $2 million Bicentennial Plaza next to the Statehouse.

State leaders and others gathered there Saturday for a ceremony dubbed the Hoosier Homecoming, which included a dedication of the plaza, its two pieces of art and the Statehouse Education Center.

Gov. Mike Pence and first lady Karen Pence attended what was a signature event of the celebrations to mark the 200th anniversary of Indiana's statehood.
