“Dogs: Faithful and True”

Who’s a big exhibition? Who’s a good exhibition? Is your figurative tail wagging over the prospect of an Eiteljorg exhibition focusing on dogs? The museum’s major show this year is devoted to art, photography, artifacts and interactives highlighting the connections between dogs and Native American and Western culture. Opening events March 4 include a screening of “Old Yeller,” a pet adoption wagon, a dog-drawing class, and dog obedience demonstrations. March 4-Aug. 6  Eiteljorg Museum Details

The musician/comic/actor/writer returns to the Murat with a band and a pal. According to Martin Short, the buddy-in-tow, “Touring with Steve is a lot like the movie ‘Deliverance’: It’s all fun and games till the banjos come out.” March 5 Murat Theatre Details

Gallery stops this month include Emily Stergar’s “Stack: A Layering of Elements” at Gallery 924, “Nature of Art: Indiana’s Painted Parks” featuring work by Rick Wilson at the Indiana Landmarks Center, and the collaborative show “A Place to Be” at Fletcher Place Arts. “An Evening of Vonnegut” in the WFYI Community Room March 2 includes a screening of the documentary “A Writer’s Roots: Kurt Vonnegut’s Indianapolis” and a chat with historian Nelson Price and muralist Pamela Bliss.

British vocal ensemble Stile Antico performs at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church March 2.

The touring production of “Jersey Boys” circles back to Clowes Hall Feb. 28-March 5.

The Ronen Ensemble is joined by International Violin Competition of Indianapolis 1994 laureate Jaako Kuusisto and pianist Chih-Yi Chen for a Feb. 27 concert at the Indiana History Center.

Native Sun headlines a Jazz on the Avenue concert Feb. 28 at the Madame Walker.
