Indiana State Fair concerts

Take a break from the funnel cake and midway rides for free (with admission) concerts every day of the Fair. This week’s include Montgomery Gentry on Aug. 9, a Yacht Rock extravaganza on Aug. 10, Here Come the Mummies and more on Aug. 12, and a Contemporary Christian festival on Aug. 13. DCI World Championships

Drum Corp International returns to town in all its percussive glory. Thursday is when the competition gets rolling with preliminaries, followed by semifinals on Friday and the battle for the World Championship on Saturday. If you want to give a free listen without the pressure of the competition, Wednesday features a free performance showcase from select drum corps and drumlines at the Indiana Convention Center. “Arsenic and Old Lace”

Dark comedy is nothing new—as witnessed by this theatrical hit turned classic film featuring Cary Grant as a befuddled nephew who discovers that his sweet aunts are actually murdering gentlemen callers.
