Officials of track owner Centaur Racing rolled out the plans to the Anderson Park Board last night, according to The Herald Bulletin. The horse track leases property from the city, and the plans must be OK’d by several local and state government offices.
The building would double interior space, and the existing building would be upgraded, as well. Costs were not reported.
The projects are under consideration after the General Assembly this year allowed slot machines at Hoosier Park and Indiana Downs in Shelbyville to increase their financial viability.
Indianapolis-based Centaur bought majority ownership in Hoosier Park from Churchill Downs in February.
