The Arts Industry New Business Incubator will have room for six arts-oriented companies, according to the Brown County Democrat. Possibilities include businesses involved in publishing, licensing, auctions, graphic arts and entertainment. Other targeted businesses are involved in marketing, digital arts and media.
National City Bank is sponsoring the incubator and making space available for tenants at its downtown location.
More than 250 artists work in the county. The colony was started in 1907 by Hoosier impressionist T.C. Steele.
In 2008, the commission also plans to open an incubator for artists. Working Artists Studio Incubator will expose artists and craftsmen to Nashville’s tourism trade while developing their talents.
