Indiana University’s business school placed No. 1 in this year’s Princeton Review of business schools based on best classroom experience.

The core curriculum is frustrating, challenging and fun-all at the same time, students said, and the faculty teach well despite their backgrounds in research.

The annual survey also pegged IU overall as 18th in the nation among peer institutions where “students (almost) never study” and as the No. 8 party school. And IU students are happy-the university ranks 16th.

Purdue University is rapped for professors’ making themselves scarce and for an environment unwelcoming to alternative lifestyles.

The University of Notre Dame ranked high on a swath of categories ranging from career placement to low marijuana use to happy students. Notre Dame was tops in intramural sports, though Wabash College in Crawfordsville was third.

The survey is released annually by The Princeton Review, a New York company that helps students prepare for the SAT and other tests.
