Pennsylvania Auto Dealers’ Exchange, one of the nation’s largest and oldest independent auctions, will be renamed Adesa.
The 140-acre site north of Washington, D.C., has 11 automated auction lanes and an 8,000-square-foot facility for reconditioning vehicles.
Adesa said it plans to expand the operation, which was founded in 1957 and was in its second generation of family ownership.
Adesa was taken private in April last year by a group of private equity firms after several years under ownership by a Minnesota utility. About 380 of Adesa’s 11,000 employees are in Carmel.
