Several interesting nuggets today …

El Bodegon, a Latin market and tapas bar, is slated to open soon along 96th Street in Fishers. The shop will feature a grocery store with fine food and wines from South America and Spain, and a dining area serving small plates including empanadas and paella. The space, formerly home to the short-lived Tossed chain, also will be available for catering and events. The market is in a strip anchored by Beauty Brands and Panera. More information is here.

Apple Store at The Fashion Mall at Keystone closed for remodeling on Monday and is scheduled to reopen Sept. 25, in time to welcome holiday shoppers. No word on whether the store revamp will be designed to showcase the company’s rumored answer to the Kindle reading device. The store is in the western portion of the mall near Williams Sonoma.

Post office branches in three Indianapolis neighborhoods are targeted for closure by the U.S. Postal Service, according to a list released Sept. 2. The branches include offices at 456 N. Meridian St., 8804 W. Washington St., and 1144 S. Belmont St. The branches are among more than 400 nationwide facing consolidation or closure because of a budget crisis. The Postal Service actually reduced the closure list by 200 since July but all three Indianapolis-area locations remain on the chopping block.

S&K Menswear stores along U.S. 31 South in Greenwood and 82nd Street in Castleton have closed, along with more than 100 other stores across the country. The Virginia-based chain filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy reorganization in February but later had to switch to Chapter 7. The liquidation began in June.
