Federal education officials wrote to state schools Superintendent Glenda Ritz this month with concerns Indiana was not implementing changes required under its waiver from the law.
Federal monitors found trouble with outreach to low-performing schools and with teacher evaluations. They also raised concerns over the state's decision to exit national Common Core standards.
The board plans to meet Tuesday afternoon to review the issues.
Ritz and Gov. Mike Pence both talked to U.S. Education Secretary Arne Duncan about the waiver last week. Ritz said her staff is working closely with federal officials to ensure the waiver is maintained.
