The newly constructed, 28,700-square-foot grocery is located at 9040 Rockville Road on the west side.
It is the suburban Chicago-based specialty grocer’s sixth store in central Indiana. Fresh Thyme has three existing locations in Indianapolis—4225 E. 82nd St., 2342 W. 86th St. and 8750 U.S. 31 on the south side—in addition to one each in Carmel and Fishers.
With the new location, fast-growing Fresh Thyme will have 46 stores operating in the Midwest since launching in 2012.
The stores boast healthy products that include natural meat raised without hormones, seafood flown in daily, barrels full of organic bulk foods. and gluten-free and dairy-free options.
At about 28,000 square feet, each Fresh Thyme store is about half the size of a typical Whole Foods Market and about twice the size of a Trader Joe’s.
The west-side store opens at 7 a.m. on Sept. 1. The first 250 shoppers in line will receive a free bag of healthy groceries.
