What does the company do? BioBond makes plant-based adhesives and coatings that help remove plastics and chemical odors from the environment. Its high-performance products are used in a range of industries, including packaging, construction, automotive and textile industries. One key product is BioCoat SUP250, a water-based polyurethane coating that is bio-based and free from odors and microplastics.

What problem is it trying to solve? Most adhesives and coatings used across multiple industries—especially packaging and labels, construction, textiles and apparels, woodworking, and transportation—use plastics and have strong chemical odors that are bad for the environment.

Latest news: In March, the Indiana Economic Development Corp. approved $850,000 in incentives based on BioBond’s plan to have 52 employees in place by the end of 2027 and its investment of more than $3 million in a headquarters and development lab space in Westpoint.

Why BioBond Adhesives made the list: BioBond has started releasing its products only in the past few months, and already, its protective coatings are in use at Nova Farms in Phoenix; an assisted-living facility in Tucson; a Banfield Clinic; and in the hallways, restrooms and entryways of a baseball stadium in Guadalajara, Mexico. Five of its products have been certified by the U.S. Department of Agriculture Biopreferred Program.•
