East Coast blizzard affecting local airport

December 27, 2010

Dozens of flights from Indianapolis were canceled this morning as a winter storm drops up to 20 inches of snow along the East Coast. Other flights have been delayed. Flights to everywhere from Maine to Georgia are being affected as the airlines change plane routes to keep them away from the storm. The three New York-area airports that have been shut down are expected to open late this afternoon. Airport officials think more passengers will start passing through Indianapolis International here when those facilities reopen.
